Day 50- Día de Independencía

Today was our first day of taste testing in my class!  We got to try three different kinds of olive oil and bread.  Olive oil is used with pretty much everything here, so it was a big deal!  It was great too because it was a nice little snack to hold us over because it's the 4th of July, so Olivia, Lauren, and I decided to go to Huelva.  I have been wanting to go there for a long time, and since it was the 4th we wanted to do something special.  They have a bus that goes to and back for only like 14 euros, so we did that and got to spend about 5 hours at the beach!  They drive was not too bad, about an hour and a half, and I got to talk with Lauren for a long time about her wedding, which is so exciting!  The view was rather interesting too because a lot of it looked so much more like a desert and reminded me of some places in Honduras.  It seemed much different from Sevilla.
We finally arrived around 3 and got right to the beach!  It was a gorgeous day: not too hot but still warm enough that we could go swimming!  We laid out for a while, ate our bocadillos, and talked.  We are all in the same class, so we all had the same assignment too, which was to read this like 30+ page article.  It was really intense, so that was our beach reading for the day, but I at least got it done!  We also watched these little boys play soccer, and I just thought it was the cutest thing because they were so into it, and reminded me of the Little Rascals.  After laying out for a little, Lauren and I decided to get in and swim around for a little.  Then the girls wanted to grab dinner before we left, so we stopped at a restaurant, then headed home.  I got to eat at home, which was a nice surprise: a french tortilla.  The beach had zapped me though, so I headed to bed shortly after!
