We got to sleep in a little extra today and didn't have to get up until like 7:45. It was a good thing Ashley's phone worked this time cause I for sure was not waking up on my own. We had breakfast again and then checked out of our rooms and boarded the bus. I finished the last bit of my homework too and it feels so good. So many people in my class are freaking out that they now have to di it on the bus or when we get home and it feels good to not even have to worry about it! Then we drove to Tetouan and got another tour. The town was somewhat similar to yesterday but bigger and some other differences. We got to see the King's palace as well as many little stands. They said that the people who live in this medina never leave so you could basically buy anything-from $15,000 gold belts to pastries to bathroom sinks. Their conditions were pretty crazy though as well. The men were much more pushy about buying their things as well and would just keep asking you. Our guides told us you weren't supposed to actually be but almost had to be rude. Basically yu just said no ONCE and then walked away. If you kept looking or said anymore, they would think you were interested or engaging in conversation. That was kind of hard for me to do just because I felt bad, but I got the hang of it especially after seeing how they kept hassling those who gave them attention.
Next, we went to lunch and it was at a really cute place again. They served the same salad and soup that we had before, and I got VEGETARIAN cous cous (no more claws for me please) and then some little cookie pastries and hot tea for dessert! Then we headed back to the buses but were constantly hassled by the men on the streets. It honestly didn't really bother me because they're just tyring to make their living to, but some people were getting so annoyed. The only thing that bothered me was when one man touched my arm and I literally flung across the street: not okay. We got back on the bus and played a game where you got a character and had to guess who you were and it actually helped the trip to go by so fast! Then we arrived awt Tangiers and got to in this big cave. It had a big cut out, (see the pic) which opened up to the ocean and I think it may have been one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen!
Then we went to...RIDE CAMELS!!!!! Oh man, it was so cool! Once in a lifetime experience! It was kind of like riding a horse, except when mine (Nettie) got up and down, I literally thought I was going to fly off! Our instructor was great too because he kept singing and was just so excited! So of course I played right with him and sang and yelled along (not really sure what all we were saying...) Anyway, then we drove to the place where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic, and it was also so beautiful!!! We took a long break there and just took pictures and some people bought some things. The rest of the day was pretty much just a full day of travel-an hour or so drive to thte ferry, hour trip back and then had to wait around for a while for our bus to arrive. In the meantime, I got to learn about some Jewish beliefs through some of my friends. Then the bus finally came and I tried to sleep for some. We finally got back to my house around 2:20 in the morning. Unfortunately, while I was gone somehow had hacked into my Facebook and left the most obnoxious messages and comments on soooo many people's walls,
even people I didn't know. So I spent a while trying to fix that and delete somethings and finally went to bed close to 4. PHEW! What a weekend!!!
