DAY 1 :)

Yesterday I arrived in Sevilla!  It was quite overwhelming as we tried to make our journey here.  We left Philly at 6:20 PM but sat on the plane for an hour waiting to take off.  As we watched the time tick away, knowing we only had an hour between our connecting flight, we started to slightly panic, but the good Lord was watching us.  We got to the London airport at 6:30 and needed to be through security no later than 6:50, but the Lord blessed us with our own little angel who took us directly from our plane, gave us express passses to get through security, and led us to the gate.  (we would have NEVER made it without him, possibly even if our plane was on time).  Then we headed to Madrid, where I had to go find somewhere to print a boarding pass, even though it should have been printed back in Philly, but once again, the Lord gave us direction and we found it in time!  We finally made it to Sevilla at 1:10 the next day (yesterday!)  We arrived at the airport and thankfully all my luggage was there and we were shipped off in our own individual taxis--quite the experience!  I arrived at my homestay to meet Ana Maria, who was very welcoming and chatty--although most of that feel on confused ears, as she talks rather FAST and my spanish is rather poor. (hopefully working on that!)  She quickly prepared lunch, which was a salad, lomo de cerdo, patatas, and an naranja, and then I had to siesta because the whole trip had completely exhausted me!  After a quick power nap, we headed to our group's meeting spot, which is luckily right around the corner, and then our guide took us to see the university, which we would have never found on our own, so it's a good thing we have him!  Then we had some brief introductions with the whole group, and then walked around a little bit (and saw this cathedral, which clearly looks GORGEOUS at night) and then we went and had our first tapas experience with just our meeting group, which is about 10 of us!  Tapas are amazing!  They are basically just little samples of a whole bunch of foods, like hamon strips, queso, calamari, patas fritas, carne, and many more!  They were delicious and we all left feeling stuffed and ready to sleep!  So we headed home and just unpacked and got ready for bed!  It was a wonderful, LONG day, but day one in Sevilla is complete! :)
